And the Oscar goes to…

To me! Well, not the Oscars, obviously… but some really great news though.

I had just gotten to the office, after two buses and a ferry boat ride not “oh so pleasant” and had just started my morning work routine: turn on the computer, open all the spreadsheets necessary for the work day, open work mail, check all the things I’ll have to do,hopefully, before lunch, check my personal mail, delete some spam, read some weekend planning e-mail form my friends, Patti from Scarpacci and Kelly has an award certificate she wants the mail me, check the daily offers from my favorite online store….

WAIT!

REWIND!

Pattie from Scarpacci and Kelly has an award certificate she wants the mail me! Me! An award!!

Apparently the whole cast for In the Key of Eli (this feature film I shot back in 2010) won best Ensemble Cast in the Monaco International Film Festival… And here I am, worrying about SAP transactions!

I know it’s an Ensemble Cast Award, but still… and award! And my name is up on the festival’s website! I’ve never had anything like it happen to me.

It feels a million years ago since I left L.A., and a couple hundred years since I last ventured in acting. But this piece of news got me reminiscing. Happy, yes, but a bit down… Funny how life takes unexpected turns and you’re not always where you thought you would be.  Oh, well…

Anyway. Congrats to the whole cast of In The Key of Eli. The film is truly amazing.

And some congratulations to me. The dream might be a bit dead now, but at least I have some nice memories and conquers to rejoice in.

PS: I do have some remarkable news to share, but all in due time. Not able to spread the word as off now, but in a couple of months, who knows… Let’s just say the search for Kim will continue, in different circumstances… and places 🙂
